Every day at work is different when you’re Jim Owens, managing director of K-12 sales. Whether it’s budgeting, forecasting, people planning, sales strategy, or growing association partnerships, each day brings a level of unpredictability. That suits Jim just fine. He’s worked at FACTS for 21 years and loves the challenge of leading the FACTS sales team.

What are you most proud of?

I feel incredibly blessed: I married my high school sweetheart, and have two wonderful daughters and three grandkids who pretty much run my world. I’m very lucky.

I’m also extremely fortunate to be surrounded by an incredible team at FACTS.

What’s the best part about your job?

Customer success stories. I love when our team wins contracts, but it’s the customers who share how our sales and service teams go above and beyond in service excellence.

What’s it like working at FACTS?

The FACTS culture is all about our associates, our relationships, and our unwavering commitment to do things right. The tenure of so many associates is incredible and foundational to our culture. Add in great leadership and you have FACTS’ recipe for an awesome work environment.

What’s your philosophy on selling?

Our partnerships are long-term. Our relationships are built on trust and loyalty and that’s how we grow our business.

You meet with hundreds of private schools a year — what’s one piece of advice you would give to an administrator to improve school management?

Build trust and lead your team by example. Provide them with the tools, technology, and learning to be the best at what they do. Give your team ownership.

What makes you excited about FACTS’ future?

We have an incredible team. Our service, technology, and solutions that we provide really impact lives. There are thousands of service businesses in hundreds of industries, but only a small number make a real difference. FACTS is one.
