July 29, 2013 – RenWeb School Management Software, the leading student information system for private schools, today announced the launch of RenWeb Portal – the new browser-based version of RenWeb that supports both PCs and Macs, including Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome on Windows PCs, and Firefox and Safari on Macs.
RenWeb Portal is available to all RenWeb customers as a free upgrade, reinforcing RenWeb’s ongoing commitment to provide schools access to RenWeb enhancements free-of-charge.
RenWeb Portal’s browser-based access eliminates the need for IT staffs to maintain current versions of RenWeb on school machines. Users will always receive the latest version of RenWeb when logging in through their browser.
Browser-based access also means Mac users will no longer need Parallels or VMware to access RenWeb. They can access RenWeb Portal by simply logging in through Firefox or Safari on their Mac.

“Over time, RenWeb Portal will replace RenWeb Desktop,” continued Wilbers. “This initial release of RenWeb Portal is the first step in that transition. Once we complete Portal’s software development to cover all of our Desktop features, we will announce a timeline for retiring RenWeb Desktop. That is expected to begin in 2015. In the meantime, schools can transition to Portal at their own pace, but we highly encourage users to experience RenWeb Portal right away for themselves.”
