US Youth Futsal is the largest and fastest-growing futsal organization in the United States, overseeing more than 100 local leagues in 30 states across the country. USYF’s mission is to develop players, coaches, and officials to compete at the highest levels of futsal and soccer in the world.
Background
Brian Catrine, the Executive Director of United States Youth Futsal (USYF), knew they needed a coaching education program. USYF is committed to growing the game. To achieve this, they planned to identify players without access to futsal, and along with players, the potential coaches who could be trained to coach the game. USYF had a wealth of great knowledge and resources, but no technology or method of delivery.
USYF is committed to providing innovative coaching education programs and we are extremely excited to release the Level 1 Course today to the futsal community. Our partners at CD2 Learning [now FACTS] did an exceptional job of capturing Coach Tozer’s futsal knowledge and creating a training environment that openly shares best-practices from one of the top futsal minds in our country.
Solutions
USYF partnered with FACTS (formerly CD2 Learning). USYF had the subject experts and focused on what a grass roots coach would need, and then coaches at various levels of learning.
FACTS Learning Management System took that information, broke it into engaging segments that would appeal to different styles of learning. Bite-sized chunks of information made mastery of content more successful. The platform is available to a global audience.
The level one course was designed for first time coaches and for converting current soccer coaches to futsal coaches. It takes roughly one and a half hours to complete. Learners can start and stop the course and have access to go back and revisit content as needed. The courses include detailed descriptions, interactive content, videos, and demonstrations from proven futsal professionals.
