Meet FACTS Intelligence: What’s Changing and Why It Matters

FACTS has been around for 40 years, and it shows: our products, data, and workflows come together into one connected experience for schools and families.

Where FACTS Started

FACTS began in 1986 as the “Fast Automatic Cash Transfer System,” built for one school, about 30 families, and one problem: breaking tuition into manageable payments. Financial Aid Management followed in 2002, and then FACTS joined Nelnet in 2005. Since then, growth has come through RenWeb, which joined FACTS in 2014 and became the FACTS Student Information System.

FACTS has grown a lot in the last 40 years, from serving one school to more than 12,000 across the United States and more than 55 other countries, including four core products: Payment Plans, Financial Aid Management, the SIS, and Application & Enrollment.

The Shift From Products to Workflows

In our experience, we’ve learned that our schools and the families they serve don’t think in products. They think in tasks: enrolling a student, checking a grade, paying a bill. So, we rethought how we organize our products and services, building around those tasks instead of around individual systems. FACTS Intelligence connects everything through FACTS IQ, which gives families and staff a single login and links data across four hubs: Admissions Intelligence, Financial Intelligence, Success Intelligence, and Engagement Intelligence.

Five Connected Hubs

  • FACTS IQ: The foundation behind every hub. SIS, analytics, AI models, and integrations unified in one school operating system.
  • Admissions Intelligence: Application Builder, Enrollment Management, Website Services, online payment collection at application, admissions yield predictions, and family first impressions
  • Financial Intelligence: Payment Plans, Financial Aid, Incidental Billing & Prepay Accounts, Advanced Accounting, Scholarship Application & Eligibility Verification, E-Rate Funding Consulting, Fundraising, and Payment Forms
  • Success Intelligence: Federal Programs & Equitable Services, Professional Learning & Coaching, Student Instructional Services, Online User Community, Elevate User Conference, Regional Customer Trainings, and Learning Platform
  • Engagement Intelligence: Family App, Family Alerts, Family Experience, and Family Onboarding

Where AI Fits In

Instead of building another chatbot, FACTS is building the pipes that let your school’s data connect safely to whatever AI tools you’re already using. Beta is targeted for the end of this year.

FACTS is also working on something simpler: instead of you having to log in and run a report, the system will flag things for you automatically, like letting you know attendance dropped at the middle school this month before you even thought to check.

What Hasn't Changed

Service stays at the center. Families can call a dedicated contact center directly, and real people behind the phones and chats remain part of the FACTS experience.

What's Next

Through the fall, the FACTS Intelligence Webinar Series will go deeper into each hub with live demonstrations. Reach out to your regional FACTS representative to learn how FACTS Intelligence applies to your school.
