A teacher that makes executive functioning (EF) a priority in their classroom focuses on all skillsets and explicitly instructs students on strategies that support social-emotional and academic development. They are cognizant of behaviors that indicate a student is struggling with an EF skill and can assist that student using a variety of strategies. We support teachers as they learn strategies to addresses EF issues in the classroom both in a whole class setting and with individual students. We assist teachers as they establish routines in the classroom that foster a positive learning environment where students are encouraged to work on EF skills and ask for guidance. When Executive Functioning strategies are proactively used in the classroom, students develop habits that will continue to help them into adulthood.
