Outstanding Science instruction begins with the teacher’s knowledge of standards, content, and pedagogy and then skillfully aligning it with the interests, strengths, and prior knowledge of students. We walk with teachers as they incorporate three-dimensional learning using authentic problems with real world application. Norms for science discourse, safety procedures, and observation and recording will effectively engage students in science and engineering practices. Through a focus on the practices of investigating, sense-making, and critiquing, students will acquire the necessary skills to think, act, and communicate like scientists.
