Elevate will again offer preconference workshops designed for users that are new to FACTS! Workshops are limited in size to ensure that time and attention from the instructor remains personal, and that there will be ample opportunity to collaborate with your peers. Each workshop is designed to orient the user and provide an overview into the capabilities and features FACTS offers. Join us Monday, July 24 from 1-5 p.m. before the event begins, and make sure you get the most out of the best Elevate conference yet! Preconference registrants can choose ONE workshop to attend.

Preconference Workshops

  • Gone are the days of manual GPA calculation. Become an expert at using the Grade Calculator, Class Rank and Honor Tools and let FACTS do the work of calculating and verifying your weekly athletic eligibility, your NHS and Honor Roll students, and your students vying for Valedictorian status. Learn the basics to take back and share with administrators, registrars, or teachers in your school.

  • Navigate the entire admissions journey from the first parent inquiry through the steps parents take to apply and enroll. You’ll learn how to stay connected with all your interested families, how to edit and review online packets, and enroll new and returning students. It’s Admissions A-Z for beginners using FACTS Application and Enrollment for the first time!

  • Ready to rock this year as a teacher? Get a head start on setting up your classes, your grade book, even a seating chart! Learn to navigate your Classroom dashboard, take attendance and lunch orders in a flash, and how to store and retrieve documents in the student portfolio. You will learn the basics of inputting lesson plans and how to run reports you will need. You’ll also return to school armed with ideas for personalized email templates you can send to parents throughout the year.

  • Take the guesswork out of financial assistance and learn to offer the most advantageous Grant and Aid awards for families. You will learn to customize your financial aid application, review and analyze families’ need, and notify families of their financial aid award. This will provide you with in-depth FACTS Grant and Aid training if you are new to financial aid and FACTS, or new to using the FACTS Grant & Aid platform.

  • It is possible to schedule those rotating specials, electives, and homerooms in FACTS and stop relying on spreadsheets. Learn to set up all your classes and use group enroll to automate this often-daunting process. Learn to manage part-time teacher schedules and much more. Return to your lower school a “Scheduling Wizard” and amaze them with your new superpowers!

  • Learn how to achieve an effortless Premier experience for your families and school in this hands-on workshop. Eager for a big picture overview and best practice support when mapping and syncing students and families? This session will provide essential steps to help with Integrated charge creation for general and recurring charges, cafeteria lunch options, and childcare fees. You will learn all the benefits to Premier Integration, family portal requirements, unique family dynamics, and more!

  • Overwhelmed by the many facets of the SIS? Let’s decrease your anxiety by helping you master key areas such as the Family Portal and email communication. This very engaging workshop will provide administrators or non-teaching staff with practical tips and tricks to help you navigate your SIS, will give you helpful resources for staff and parents, and show you how to update family demographics as well as run useful reports. Come home more confident in your ability to use the SIS and help others at your school.

  • It is time to run reports but there are so many! With over 300 reports, it is easy to get overwhelmed, and as a new user, how do you decide which reports work best for you? Join us to learn how to use Report Manager & Create A Report including navigation, filtering, favorites, and general best practices. We will help prepare you with recommendations on the most common and helpful reports, as well as some fantastic hidden gems! You will also have time for specific questions on reporting at your school!

  • Eager to more easily navigate your website and improve its effectiveness? Master the Content Management System (CMS) in School Site to winsomely share your school’s story and strategically communicate with families. Master the announcement and calendar functions, navigate through the page builder, create and edit forms, and learn to upload and organize your files. Not quite sure what SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is and why it is so important? You will discover the secrets to using School Site to help improve your school’s search engine rankings.

  • This workshop will provide both big-picture and essential how-to steps. Come ready to create the boilerplates, organize and configure standards, and import and assign them. We will also take a deep dive into the newly released enhancements. You will leave empowered with great tips on updating and assigning standards each year and understand the HOW and the WHY of standards-based grading. This workshop is for schools new to standards-based grading and/or those newly responsible for overseeing the process in FACTS.

  • Tired of tons of manual entry? There is life beyond student billing, and you will find it when you discover how to utilize rate tables; create incidental billing and prepay accounts; offer flexible collection with various payment plans; manage & minimize delinquencies; master financial reporting and advanced accounting. Impress your Head of School as you improve upon your billing processes.

  • Wondering what funds are available for your private school that can support instructional services for students? Professional learning for teachers? Cost savings for school-wide Internet? FACTS ED is committed to equipping school leaders with knowledge and tools to ensure access to the dollars that rightfully belong to their students and teachers. Topics covered will include Title I – IV, IDEA, E-Rate, and more. This workshop provides guidance in navigating consultation, grant applications, and federal/state laws, so schools don’t leave money on the table!

  • Learn the essential steps to set up NOW for successful and seamless scheduling next spring. This workshop will focus on the big picture (pre-requisites vs. equivalents vs. co-requisites) and guide you through creating user defined scheduling groups, implementing an easy-to-use course request process, setting up sections, classes & teachers, copying schedules, templates, rotations, and so much more! All the secrets to building a master schedule will come to light!
